Direktiv was founded in November 2020, but is a culmination of years of experience in building complex software components. The initial use-case for Direktiv (originally called “Flux”) was an internal testing engine, which allowed us to build complex testing workflows for multiple coding languages in a serverless platform.
Our problem was complex: we needed an orchestration engine that could run ANY language (Golang, Rus, Ruby, Python, Java, NodeJS … etc.) without the dependencies of a specific cloud platform (we didn’t want to reinvent the wheel on all the public cloud platforms all the time).
